Return Your Leased Vehicle

When your lease expires, you can choose to simply return your leased vehicle according to the terms of your lease agreement.

If you choose to return your vehicle, there are a few things to consider beforehand:

  • Does your vehicle have excess mileage or wear-and-tear?

The terms of the lease agreement allow for a certain amount of mileage on the vehicle, and also set forth expectations of acceptable wear-and-tear on the vehicle during the term of the lease. If you have driven the vehicle more than the allowed mileage, or have more wear-and-tear on the vehicle than allowed by the lease agreement, you'll have to pay for the difference.

  • Have you properly maintained your vehicle, and does it need any repairs?

In order to return your leased vehicle, it needs to be in good mechanical condition. The best way to ensure that your vehicle stays in top condition is to keep up with the recommended maintenance and perform any necessary repairs during your lease term. However, every vehicle and driving situation is unique, so before you return your vehicle you'll need to make sure it has been properly serviced and any needed repairs are completed.

  • Are there any costs or fees associated with returning your leased vehicle?

Depending on the terms of your lease agreement, there may be costs or fees associated with returning your leased vehicle. You may refer to your lease agreement documentation for the details, or contact us to go over the specific costs or fees related to returning your leased vehicle.

As your lease-end date approaches, the Lease Return Checklist below will help you address these considerations and get everything ready so you can return your leased vehicle with the least amount of hassle possible.
